Allison Boehm has worked with international NGOs in Japan, Sri Lanka and New York for over a decade on issues of peace, women’s rights, disarmament and development.  For GNWP, Allison has authored country Policy Briefs based on GNWP’s annual civil society monitoring report on UN Security Council Resolution 1325.

Allison holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University with concentrations in Economic and Political Development and International Security Policy.   Allison conducted her graduate field-research in Bihar, India on women's socio-economic empowerment through a gendered analysis of the Bihar Rural Livelihoods Project.  As a research fellow of Columbia University’s Earth Institutes’ Advanced Consortium on Cooperation, Conflict and Complexity, Allison assessed post-war peace-building initiatives and policies, as well as the affect of the civil war on women and children in Sri Lanka.   While working for the international NGO Peace Boat Allison served as a member of the NGO Working Group on Women, Peace and Security for several years.
