South Sudan, June 2014 - Radio Spot #2 on UNSCR 1325 and 1820 (in English)

This radio public service announcement calls attention to rape and UNSCR 1820, which recognizes sexual violence as a weapon of war and requires governments to provide effective and long-term assistance to victims of rape during and post-conflict. 

The Global Network of Women Peacebuilders in partnership with its members Community  Empowerment for Progress  Organization  (CEPO), EVE Organization for Women Development and Voice for Change, produced three radio spots to popularize UNSCR 1325 and 1820 in South Sudan. The radio productions provide general information on UNSCR 1325 and 1820 and their key provisions such as women’s participation in decision-making, protection of women and girls’ rights, prevention of conflict and prevention of and protection from sexual violence.
