Women Count – Security Council Resolution 1325: Civil Society Monitoring Report 2014

In 2014, the fifth year of Women Count, the civil society monitoring of UNSCR 1325, civil society groups from Azerbaijan, India, Iraq, Kenya and Libya participated in this independent monitoring report for the very first time. Moreover, we are for the first time including a territory, Nagorno-Karabakh in monitoring and analyzing the applicability of the WPS resolutions in different socio-political and cultural contexts.

Financing for the Implementation of National Action Plans on UNSCR 1325: Critical for Advancing Women's Human Rights, Peace and Security

This publication includes an examination of financing for NAPs in 42 countries. It also highlights 6 case studies from Burundi, Chile, Nepal, the Netherlands, Philippines and Sierra Leone. These case studies provide in depth analysis of the financing—or lack thereof—of NAP implementation in these 6 countries. GNWP and Cordaid in partnership with UN Women launched this publication during the 14th anniversary of UNSCR 1325 in New York in October 2014. 

Implementing Locally, Inspiring Globally: Localizing UNSCR 1325 in Colombia, Nepal, the Philippines, Sierra Leone and Uganda

Since the groundbreaking UN Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325, there are now six supporting resolutions on women and peace and security — UNSCRs 1820, 1888, 1889, 1960, 2106 and 2122 — which have reinforced the normative standards for ensuring women’s participation in decision-making, conflict prevention and conflict resolution and recovery.

Women Count – Security Council Resolution 1325: Civil Society Monitoring Report 2012

This report features outcomes of civil society monitoring of UNSCR 1325 implementation in Afghanistan, Colombia, DRC, Fiji, Liberia, Nepal, Netherlands, Philippines, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, and Uganda. It includes recommendations for implementation at national level; a global snapshot of the progress and gaps in implementation; and a summary of trends.

Costing and Financing 1325

Commissioned by Cordaid and GNWP, the report examines the resources needed to implement UNSCR 1325 at the national level, as well as the gains, gaps, and glitches on financing the women and peace and security agenda. It analyzes strategies for financing UNSCR 1325 implementation, including the role of the private sector. The report features case studies in Colombia, Liberia, Sierra Leone, the Philippines, and the Netherlands. 

Women Count – Security Council Resolution 1325: Civil Society Monitoring Report 2010

The absence of regular monitoring and reporting by Member States continues to be one of the key challenges in the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325 on Women, Peace and Security. On the part of civil society, the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders along with our members and partners realized the value of monitoring much earlier on, carrying out yearly monitoring exercise since 2010.
